Really weird choice to lock crystal and metal extraction behind a requirement of 4 civil structures and give you options to research increased mining rates before you're able to even build extractors, seems quite backward. The (modernised, two tone) UI seems like it's regressed vs the first game, it looks nice enough but nothing really stands out and provides the clarity that the older UI does at a glance.

so if someone has distant worlds universe, stellaris, star ruler 2, polaris sector, endless space.... what will THIS game bring him new? is it worth it dropping $40 for another clone of above mentioned games?

the UI in rebellion is way better, if they fix it id continue to play but this one is cancerous

It's not a full game. But for $100 you can have this thing that looks like it came straight out of 2007 and that sounds like it came out of 1996 along with a campaign.
