I love how the aliens were a clear and present threat to the traders but the narrator doesn't talk about them with the same disgust and hatred as he does the Advent.

I feel like the main thing that was always holding the popularity of this game back was the amount of time it takes to complete a single match, especially one with more than 2 dueling players on the board, which even then can take more than an hour, typically. It was also just way ahead of its time.

why is it so hard for modern 4x games to write such clear cut and yet deep and intriguing story? where factions are actually unique, and have meaningful backstories instead of "oh look its lizards\mice\cats\dogs in space!!!"

The Scale of this Game is so huge, you could only play the Demo and still be satisfied !

You know the first time i saw this back in the day i was really sympathetic to the advent, but it says slot that the libertarian space United nations that was made up of a diverse array of cultures, economic systems, and governments, and was so effective that it resulted in 1, 000 years of peace and prosperity, met the "pre-advent" and were so disgusted at what they saw that the conclusion, they came to was to exile them. Imagine what you would have to be doing to force the people who are that tolerant to say there can be no co existence.

It allso speaks volumes that even at their darkest point the Trade Order didn't wipe out the people on that desert world given how much they despised them.

All that said aesthetically the advent super carrier is one of the coolest looking ships I have ever seen
