Haha I love this story. I dropped a whole bag of liquor like 500 bucks worth in the parking lot of the liquor store and half crawled under my jeep because a truck backfired. I love how real the content is !

My cousin served multiples in iraq, and the first time he came home to visit we were all sitting around a fire shooting the sh—. And a neighbor shot off an M80 unexpectedly and my cousin leapt out of his lawn chair and “hit the deck”. He didn’t react to any others, but I don’t think this story is bs. He was super embarrassed and tried to make jokes out of it. So ya. Not fake imo

I didn't know people liked fireworks until I was 12 bc my Dad did 3 tours in Vietnam.
I still got a weakness for Military.

Was driving down harbor in SD when one of their old timey sailing ships fired a signal cannon. I was back from Iraq for about a week in 06....it was not a fun experience

After my first deployment, our first night back consisted of a lot of drinking. the next morning, there was a .50 cal range and artillery range going on at the same time. Our barracks were the last ones you saw just before going out Scouts Out gate heading to the range....we all did this very thing

No bullshit. EOD gave the camp a fireworks show one year in the stan. My sleeping ass was up, boots on boxer shorts and my 240b linked up. Stay frosty boys

Had this happen as well. Month after we got back I got TAD for month long medical support for a unit doing a FEX. I had never actually heard or seen an Arti-sim at that time. There was a squad size element to my left one night with some instructors observing the Marines conduct night movement in tall grass when one instructor through a sim without any word to anyone else. He had snatched a Marine in the darkness and the squad hadn’t noticed. He told the Marine when the sim detonates you call out that you’re injured. 😅🫥 I was walking down a road when this all happened; behind other instructors on our way to the safety structure. I remember duck walking below the height of the grass after the whistle-pop even though I was in a dirt road with the instructors in front of me standing tall and I’m trailing being just asking “is something wrong? Is someone hit.” All for them to just keep walking down this dirt road through the tall grass.

LOL my first week back they were doing some drills on the parade grounds and a 21 gun salute out of nowhere. Ducked so hard I damn near plowed into side of the road.

I believe there needs to be like a 2 year cool off period in your home state for all military members who have finished there time. Like you have to meet at least one time a month for drills, PT, and other stuff like civilian life training. I was I was given an OTH 4 months before my out date. It took one week from being on ship in the pacific to back home and out. It messed me up bad. I wanted to kill myself and got hooked on opiates then heroin. It took me 7 years to finally find myself and come to terms

It always trips me out how vets are just ok with this, like this is literally ptsd formed from like actual combat experience and they can make jokes about it and act like nothings wrong and this is fine
