I served with women. A lot of the drama, distraction, and issues were created because of women being present. I have absolutely no problem with women in non infantry roles, but I saw too many cons and not enough pros. If a 200 lb man gets injured, can a female soldier that's 120 lbs carry him to safety? No, they can not. There are definitely some badass women out there that can outshine some men, but generally speaking, it's not a good idea. And rules aren't made based on the exception. We are talking about soldiers' lives, and civilian feelings have no place in combat.

While I'm at it, girls should be in girl scouts and boys in boyscouts damnit! Alright, I'm done.

100% with Pete on this! Been there, done that and dealt with this in my 22 yrs Army 95B. Peacetime missions are fine. Extended
Combat deployments. lots of distracting issues. Truth!

Absolutely agree 💯 - as a retired USMC female officer - we were patriots and proud to serve but, none of us wanted to go into combat. The Marines pushed back hard to Congress.👍 they didn’t listen. The only people pushing women in combat were politicians and civilians. They didn’t know the brutality of it. We knew! Great Pick as Sec Def. Finally a man who is a combat vet! And gets it! I'm a woman and if I am in combat, what is my man/husband fighting for. 😮. They are fighting to protect their families. Woman and children, should be protected and the best of Men is a Protector ❤️💪 Love you 💋 guys and thank you for your service

As a woman, I agree that we do not elong on the front line. I can't put a man over my shoulders to carry him out of harms way and even in my prime I couldn't perform on the same level as a man and in war that means more men die .However, we can serve in so many other roles in support.
