The one thing I'd like to see added here is a test on an entry level PCIE 4.0 platform. The card doesn't make sense when paired with a top end 10900K given you're likely to see much better performance on an 11th or 12th gen i3 (something like 12100F) due to PCIE 4 (It really helps those 1% lows IIRC). Use the budget card in a modern budget rig, that's kind of the sweet spot for it.

This was most pleasant most informative explanation of GPU's that I have ever heard. I have been building for the last 20yrs so it was like cliff notes to me, saves me from watching and reading many videos and articles to get what I need to know. Basic enough for a normal person to understand as well, like a kid building his first PC.

Thanks for the video. My 2 options are very low budget, I can get the Rx 570 4gb, or the Rx 6500 xt, both for 80 and 90 usd. My problem is that my motherboard has pci-e 2.0. Is the Rx 6500 still the best option?

I got a 6500xt as a secondary card in the same rig as my 3080 10gb and 5900x.

Bought it for the amazing performance per watt. What he didn't mention in this video is that you can sip 80w frequently instead of the 100w, and at idle consumes next to nothing. Benefits of 6nm RDNA 2 architecture. Amazing, I love this card for efficiency probably was a reworked laptop GPU.

Power consumption is important for me as well as minimizing heat output in an already toasty case. That's who should be buying this GPU.stead of the 100w, and at idle cons
