In order to write the electron configurations using the configuration chart we first need to know the number of electrons for the each atom. When we write the configuration we'll put these electrons in orbitals around the nucleus of the atom.

Electron configuration notation provides an easy way for scientists to write and communicate how electrons are arranged around the nucleus of an atom. This makes it easier to understand and predict how atoms will interact to form chemical bonds.

Why Can't my Chemistry teacher explain things in this way? Using examples and starting simple to help understand the subject is the way I think Chemistry is supposed to be taught. My teacher attempts verbally to teach us these concepts and explains in only such a way he and very few others understand. I thank you for these videos but am also upset that I have to learn important Chemistry subjects from YouTube and not from my actual class.
