Great video, your videos are so informative and inspiring. In my shaman class I was working on my mother’s mother’s line of the family. I am not close with the family, and don’t have pictures. What type of things can I put on the altar for them?

Thank you! I have only just discovered your channel. I have been resistant to making an ancestral altar a part of my spiritual practise, because I came from a very troubled and unhappy family. However, I’m thinking about it more now. Is it possible to have an ancestral altar, when we don’t necessarily want to connect with, or even remember, certain recent ancestors who have passed? Can we pick and choose who we honour there? As I would want it to be a healing practise, and not one that just drags up painful memories and relationships. There are also certain people I definitely would not want to ‘invite’ back into my home or life! I would love to know your thoughts on those issues.. 🙏🏼
