I think you make the best video on YouTube explaining in detail about this freaking problem with the heat soak in this engines, You are very clever, no doubt 👍

You're getting a lot better at these videos, you're more casual and less monotonous than in your earlier videos. Pretty soon you'll be the ChrisFix of jeeps

Very good video!
The bottom line for me is to replace the injectors with the new 12 hole version.
And while I'm at it replace the leaking valve cover gasket.
Both presently collecting dust in the shop!

Excellent idea. I'm going to be implementing this on mine in the near future. Thank you for sharing!

Great vid. I put a one inch spacer under the hood of my 96 xj and it definitely helped

Easiest and cost free solution is to just open the hood when you park. Also wrapping the exhaust manifolds is better than building all sorts of contraptions

my 88 had this, or so i thought. long hard start every time. SO i fixed my fuel leak at the pressure regulator. that helped. and then replaced for the 2nd time my whole fuel pump and sender assembly. no more long hard start, no more pressure leaking down and making me THINK i had heat soak. and yes heat soak is a real thing. just saying the symptoms COULD be something else.

Oh I like this idea, bottom and top sides. Hmmm cool!

Have you noticed if the fan kicks on much while the engine is running? Since the fan is in the filter box, it will be fighting the intake vaccum while the engine is running. This might contribute to the fan free spinning when the engine is running or premature fan failure.

Much easier solution is ....I put 180 degree thermostat in instead of that 192 degrees one that is stock. This starts the cooling process sooner . Thus, making your entire engine cooler so it doesn't build heat up in the first place. Also most people forget to check the mechanical clutch fan. If it works, you can idle to cool engine. If it is failing, idle heats it up. The fan clutch goes out every couple years. They work all the time.

Great ideas! Lots of helpful suggestions in the comments also; 180 degree thermostat, ethanol-free gas, check the mechanical fan clutch, etc .... All easy solutions. Thanks! BTW: Why do the 4-hole and 12-hole injectors help? What's the engineering logic behind that solution?

I live in the desert by Yuma. I have tried all of these quick fixes. Wrap kit, 6 hole injectors and latest is 12 hole, can't see any difference. I had but louvered vents in the hood as my first project. Then added a kit blocks under the back of the hood, helped some then added a delay for 3 minutes that runs the fan. I turn on the fan just before I turn off the engine then fan runs that helps move the air out the back of the hood. .
Now back to You removing the Cats and installing a Y what do you compensate for the 4 O/2 sensors. I need detailed help on this or I would have started out doing this first.

Last I removed all weather stripping and rubber garments from my hood ..creating a tiny heat vent around the hood. Helps too. And you cannot see the difference in appearance.

How do u think a similar elec fan set up like that would go as a turbo type set up? Im no engineer, obviously far from it lol. But when i saw the set up it, I thought I wonder if it would be helpful?

Thanks for the informative video. What make and model # 12 hole injectors did you install? Did this resolve your heat soak issue? Thx again.

I use ethanol free gas which has a higher boiling point. Its a bit more expensive but I get better gas mileage, it doesn't gum up components and I Haven't had any heat soak issues on any of my 3, 2000+ jeeps since I started using it.

Any luck on getting a video of how to change out the serpentine belt? New to the Jeep world and mine squeals so loud it’ll drive u crazy! Great videos as always keep up the great work

Just subbed, can u tell me the direction the bilge blower fan is directed? Sucking air out of the airbox or blowing hot air out of the airbox?

How much would you charge for the cool kit you made. With the fan and all I have a 2000 xj classic 4.0

I would like to try to do the same for my XJ, do you happen to have a pattern or dimensioned sketch I could use
