If you're an adult who doesn't want to be tracked down don't use a phone made by people regularly selling malware.

That's why phone batteries can't be easily removed anymore for tracking purposes

I would trust a Nigerian prince to give me my inheritance before I trust this cellphone to not compromise my information lol

This guy owns blackwater mercs, is buddy buddy with the feds, has a guy who made the most dangerous piece of mobile spyware out there on his team, AND he has the balls to tell people the phone hardware and software is proprietary and therefore unable to be independently audited (like all open source software). This stinks to high heaven, like he glows in the dark so bright, it’s radioactive.

Why would I trust a company who has the guy who invented the tech to spy on me to not spy on me?

I've heard conversations like this so many times. An old dude who knows nothing at all about tech invests in a tech company, learns the buzzwords, learns all the taglines he can, and then starts talking about his product with everyone who'd listen (mostly other old dudes who know nothing about tech either). I wouldn't buy anything sold this way. Even if I code it myself.

There are serious concerns about the phone’s abilities to live up to its promises… tech world is skeptical.. they better test the shit out of this system.

Make your operating system open source, like all the other FOSS Android operating systems. Then, third-parties and individuals can audit it.

Pushes you to a website for a phone secure from tracking. Website has cookies.

It would be really nice if it would alert the user when a Stingray device is in use!

There was an old Nokia and Blackberry that would detect Stingray. Neither of these phones are available anymore.

What happens if you don't pay the subscription? All your data gets sent to the NSA because this man is a glowie.

Shawn, I remember seeing a video of you years ago where you seemed really introverted and/or dealing with some things, despite having wealth of interesting still, there was a charisma about you. It is phenomenal to have discovered this channel. It seems I completely misread your personhood - mea culpa. The "interview industry, " whatever the sector, is saturated, yet you and crew have blown it out of the water. As a viewer, it is remarkable to be part of the depth and breadth of your discussions by witnessing your extraordinary engagement with the calibre/candidacy of your guests. Outstanding.

Is this like the “freedom phone?” Twice the price, half the capability. Lovely.

Either very secure or extra compromised phone lol

I'll explain why this phone cannot be trusted, for those unfamiliar with the technical side.

At 4:38 they mention the software is proprietary; proprietary software is often closed-source.
Programming languages often use human-readable source code to produce a file containing instruction codes.
It's infeasible to audit large projects without the human-readable source code.

When you use closed-source software, you are using software that cannot be audited and trusted.
There are already open-source Android forks hardened for security and privacy, and their code is frequently audited.
This phone has all the hallmarks of a honeypot, do not buy.
