Myford top-slide block to allow 12mm indexable tools

Just a very short video here:
My very simplistic approach to the "problem" of not enough height adjustment for certain tooling. I decided on using a range of indexable tooling, eg. 12mm, which are inexpensive and in "good supply", then I made a block to adapt this to the top-slide on the Myford Super 7 or ML7. I will also make a slot in a version with a slightly bigger "footprint" to allow for "quick change" ie. no need to fully unscrew the nut for each toolchange.

A very nice example of why you need a lathe and mill - to make parts for your lathe and mill! I wonder how long it will be, before you feel it is necessary to scrape the mating surfaces... 😀

You could glue (epoxy) the tool into an L or angle piece to set the height and use the original tool clamp, can be as quick as a QCTP.
Thanks for sharing
