What I envy about actors of this grade is their capacity to learn so much material so quickly, and then deliver it so well. It's why I think he stood out so much on Boston Legal. They threw so many lines at him that he handled so well, that he turned into the attorney "everybody wanted." He was the "center" of that series in my opinion.

If all Spader had given us for his career was Alan Shore, in my eyes, that would be enough. He was absolutely brilliant in Boston Legal and continues his excellence as RR.
