Im an HVAC technician, and honestly i would 100% recommend mini split systems. The ONLY downside to them is that they suck at heating, , so if where you live temperatures often drop, this is probably not the best option for you. But when it comes to cooling, these suckers will cool down your room in no time and are SUPER energy efficient! :)

i use a motion sensor switch so every time i leave it turns off in 10 minutes. when i get back. it turns on. works great when the temp is set. this system can definitely benefit from this. i think its a great set up.

Wow glad I came across this video... Living in Asia most of our homes use mini split ac's but are of far bigger capacity like a single room of 150 sqft needs a dedicated 18000 btu unit. I was planning on getting central ac for my home but now I know even in west now ductless is getting more popular and it's overall better and more efficient!

I have a ~1500 sq ft, 2 story home. Downstairs is the living room on one whole side and a kitchen and a laundry/ utility room on the other half. Upstairs is 3 beds and a bath. What would be a good setup? 4 zones? 2 down and 2 up? One in each room seems like overkill. Thanks.
