FIRST TO COMMENT! Too bad Bofur, Nori and Gloin didn't bury anything else while in the cave like in the animated movie. On the other hand, the reason for it was plane and simple: Thorin couldn't get out of there fast enough, so he urged everyone else that it was time to leave. Also, Dwalin's expression was priceless when Bofur (I think) told him what he, Bofur and Gloin (I think) were doing: Dwalin just rolled his eyes as a way to say "whatever" and just stood there before Thorin pretty much said "we're leaving".
