Ok the main 2 you guys need to check out as they are simple and in my opinion the best are shotcut and Davinci I have personally had 1 year + experience on shot cut and I am am new to Davinci but in my experience with shotcut I have found it is very easy to use not to tasking and has all the basic needs you would want for a beginner, Davinci has everything you would need in a paid video editor but for free.
