My Minecraft cities usually suck, so in this hardcore episode I created a strict set of rules to follow when it came to building this city and so far it's turned out pretty great!

There is 100% more "Brothel" in this video than I was expecting.

The main thing that makes all of your village build looks the same because of your block palet

Here is just an idea, all of your buildings are made from the same blocks. Your city would look much more interesting if you made buildings out of different blocks. Or even if you just changed out the roof blocks, I think it would make a huge difference. I think using the same blocks for each build contributes to that sameness feel you were talking about at the beginning of the video, so try changing them out

Actual real life blacksmith here - the dunking area (love that, definitely gonna start calling it that instead) is called a quench bucket or a Bosh ✌

Tip: build the paths first (make them kinda curvy) and then build the houses!

Your build style is never poo. You just got comfortable with it. Now onto the video.

Edit: I thought you were going to switch up your block palette. I think that's the main reason a lot of you villages look the same. We have more wood types than spruce and more stone types that stone/stone brick. Maybe you should try to change up that as well as the shapes of your builds.

That being said, I do like what you built. I always do.

Just a tip you will get better upgrades the more bookshelves you add the reason you get such bad enchants is because you only have the minimum amount necessary

Look, this church at the top of that village behind the city... You can make it bigger and going down that hill, put some decoration like a cemetery with the Villagers who died against the Pillagers army.

For the spacing of your buildings, something I like to do when building cities is decide what kind of path will be going inbetween the buildings, and then assigning block values to these types, depending on what kind of city it actually is.

For something kind of medieval looking like this, I'd probably do something like 3 block alley, 5-9 block side street, and 11-15-ish blocks of main street. Always comes down to trial and error to find the values that work well, but I found that coming up with that plan and sticking to it really makes the whole city fit together like a neat puzzle.

I propose an additional rule. No ladders to second floors in villager homes. Love your walls on this city build and the other rules you have.

15:39 It’s cool to have a pimp or bouncer (iron golem) at the Brothel

To make the village better I would recommend you to use different block pallets and to build them in other biomes

I have just been fixing up existing villages, got 10 of them connected by paths, I keep the existing buildings and add more, put in a castle and wall around the village. I did make 1 from scratch at the spawn location but I'm trying to make it seem somewhat vanilla
