I’m currently about 1.5 years into my first contract with the Air Force. Currently on my first deployment. While I’m already here, this video definitely helped me out a ton!!

A modern deployment for Air Force is essentially being locked in, on an Air Force base that’s located in another country. Outside base travel may or may not be allowed depending on world events. Unless you’re in a special warfare AFSC, you will NOT experience anything like Restrepo or Hurt Locker . Imagine an Air Force deployment more like military Office Space… Now Army/Navy/Marines ? That’s a whole different movie . 🤔

Thank you Sir, your videos made me see the amazing benefits of Joining the Air Force from Italy, and guided me in the whole process from Meeting a recruiter until now. Just got TDY in a 4 Star-Hotel and with a business class flight at 22, and that's when I told myself: "Damn this was the best decision of my life"

My first deployment was in 1994. I was a supply troop supporting the KC-135. It was short notice I had 19 hours from when I was told I was going until my plane left. Aircraft maintainers deployed more than supply.

I just left my sons graduation in San Antonio Texas this past week. He is now onto the tech school
portion of things. I just love your videos they are so informative, and fun! Now that he can have his phone more than they did in BMT, I am sending him your videos. Blessings to you and thank you for all you do!

I have wasted my life, and at 33, I seriously would like to join the Air Force. both my parent's met in the air force i really admire vets. I think I saw that you can serve till 42, so I have been really thinking about seeing a recruiter and seeing what my life could be. My health is a worry, tho I don't want to get my hopes up.

Retired CE (HVAC tech) here. I was fortunate and somehow only went on 2 deployments in my 20 year career.
I deployed from Hill AFB (best assignment I had) back in 2000 and went to Eskan Village in Saudi Arabia. They had the best chow hall I ever had.
We landed at around 11 pm and it was about 95 degrees still. That heat just punches you in the face as soon as you step off the plane.
During that time, we had to take a course with EOD (explosive ordinance disposal) and be trained on looking over our vehicles with any tampering or wires exposed from any potential homemade bombs when we took any vehicles off base. I recall seeing an article posted when a car bomb was planted and it killed a couple of British soldiers and they (Saudi’s) apologized saying it was intended for Americans. A holes.
Then, a few more weeks pass and I experienced my 1st threat con (threat condition) Delta when the U.S.S Cole ship was attacked. We had to carry our gas masks everywhere as a just in case type thing but just stayed in our work shops for the most part. Overall, it was a good experience and miss getting my haircut there because they even gave you a neck / shoulder massage after your haircut. It was awesome.

During my 20 years in the Air Force, I have deployed 8 times. Some of the better times during my 20 years even being in the war zone.

I went to MEPS a week and a half ago. I scored an 85 for my AFQT score. All I’m waiting on is my consultation with an eye doctor in a 2 weeks, then hopefully I’ll be an approved applicant. Prayers up!🙏🏾

Personally I deployed 3 months after i got to my first station, without getting my 5 level or SrA, but that was because I was part of an ACS and they mass deploy together.
