Every Cobra Kai 4 Easter Egg I Could Find (ALL 10 EPISODES)

I tried to find as many Cobra Kai season 4 easter eggs as I could. If I missed some that you caught, comment them below so I can see.

The boat he pukes in. This is the boat Daniel and Miyagi were on in karate kid 1

Hawk puts his leg through the shoji screen. This is a Easter egg from Dennis, mike Barne’s trainer in karate kid 3 who destroyed Daniel’s shoji screen in mr Miyagi’s bonzai store.

Miguel mentions rocky 3, telling Johnny how rock and Apollo joined forces to beat clubber lang. Rocky was directed by John G. Avildsen

John creese and silver are on the balcony looking out on the horizon, just like in karate kid 3, only now it’s infront of an ocean.

Terry Silver finally reignites who he truly is, we hear his iconic theme from karate kid 3 for the first time since the 80’s and he does a spinning wheel kick, hitting his win bottle to the wall and splashing it with dripping red, symbolizing the blood he’s about to spill literally and metaphorically on the valley.

EPISODE 2

JOHNNY is supposed to sand the floor like Miyagi made him do, however he’s using a machine to sand it.
Also the platform may be a nod to the kumite in blood sport. Maybe not, but bloodsport is one of my favourite movies too so I thought I’d mention it.

When Anthony gets the ball in his face, I feel like this is a nod towards the amazing spider-man when Peter gets his powers and has the basketball face off with flash. While that has nothing to do with karate kid, Andrew Garfield has said he’s a massive cobra kai fan and wants to be in the show so maybe this is like a little nod to him.

Johnny is paining the fence like Daniel did to train for the all valley to beat Johnny and the Cbra kais.

Daniel karate chops johnny’s beer bottle just like mr. Miyagi did in 1984 against the rude drunks at the beach.

WHEN Daniel is training Johnny, he is saying a lot of Miyagi’s lines from the first karate kid, when Miyagi was training Daniel. Miyagi is now being played by Daniel, and Johnny is taking Daniel’s spot. It’s ironic.

Daniel tells Johnny the best defence is no be there. The same thing Miyagi told him.

Anthony’s bully buddy tells him to tell Payne to meet at Balboa park, another nod towards Rocky.

When Johnny trains Daniel, he calls him Newark. This is where Daniel is from when he moves to the valley in karate kid.

The methods Johnny makes Daniel do are the same ones he trained Miguel to do in the first season of cobra kai.

When Anthony meets Payne at Balboa park, they chase him over the fence, this is a direct mirror of when cobra kais chased Daniel through the field on Halloween after Daniel poured water over johnny’s head.

There was an Easter Egg in the episode where Johnny was drunk. When Miguel came in, he slurred “Come inside come inside” just like Miyagi did with Daniel.

I don’t know if this is considered as an Easter egg but in one of the early episodes, Silver tells Kreese that in the 80s he was high on cocaine and how ridiculous it sounds that he spent months to take revenge on a high school kid. This is actually a good explanation of the writers for Silver cartoonish behavior in KK3. Also how the movie plot was received…

After Tory hit Sam by accident with her elbow, and she leaned over her saying " i am sorry, i didn't mean to" and she even said to Silver" i don't need to cheat to win", all that reminds me of Bobby in Karate Kid 1

Quick note about #7... I've actually lived in the San Fernando Valley for most of my life and there really is a Balboa Park. It's part of Lake Balboa (which is a man made lake with a little hiking trail that goes around it).

One thing I picked up on was how Silver was reading Leviathan by Thomas Hobbes. This book is about how absolute power and how a single ruler is the best way to rule. this foreshadows silvers betrayal of Kreese and how he takes cobra Kai for himself

The My Cousin Vinny one went further than just using Marisa Tomei’s name. She replicated the scene where her character was assumed to know little about cars and the character going all out with technical terms proving she was quite the expert.

The three D’s were also said by silver to Daniel in KK3. When Silver tells the students to say it “with conviction, ” also a callback to him telling that to Daniel.

In episode 4, when Danny and Johnny are arguing about the sprinkler prank, Daniel says “what did you want them to do, get into a drive-by switchblade fight?” Which is a nod to his character he played in the Outsiders movie.

Also, episode 8 is titled “party time, ” which is what silver and Kreese said to each other when they were going to face off against miyagi in the old Dojo, which is exactly where Silver lures Johnny, in a very similar scene to when Daniel showed up there to tell silver he wasn’t going to defend his title

With all the Rocky references, I can't believe you didn't mention the double knockout being reminiscent of Rocky 2's ending.

Episode 1 when Lawrence says "Sue me for what" that's gotta be a nod to Rocky 5 when Rocky says that.

One Easter egg that i haven't seen mentioned anywhere in all the Easter egg videos is the name Kenny uses online, "KennytheJet" which is an homage to the greatest karate sensei and professional kickboxing champion and actor in that time period (70s to 80s), Benny Urquidez, aka, Benny the Jet, who had his studio in the San Fernando Valley, known as the Jet Center.

The 333 beer is an actual beer that was brewed in Vietnam. A lot of Vietnam GIs became very fond of the beer and made it popular. Krease buying the beer for silver is a reference to their time in Vietnam together

The wine bottle Terry Silver kicked was from the Kamen wines estate, ie Robert Mark Kamen, who actually produces the stuff. Nice product placement, or an Easter Egg nod to the KK writer, not sure which!

When Johnny is training for his fight with Daniel, Burning Heart plays. It is by Survivor, who sings Eye of the Tiger from Rocky III. Burning Heart is from Rocky IV.

"The Moment of Truth" was sung by the band Survivor and it was featured in the end credits of the first Karate Kid movie. Not in The Karate Kid part 2.

Best season of the series since Season 1 man I loved it! Terry Silver has always been my favorite villain in the series. Loved his storyline, especially by the end! Man, can't wait for Season 5. Thanks for the videos.

12:19 The song Carrie Underwood sings is actually from the end credits of Karate Kid 1. Her appearance was the only weak moment of the season for me. Great video, thanks!

1:44 Number Five was two Easter Eggs at once. The fact he smashes a Kamen wine so angrily might even express Thomas Ian Griffith's own resentment at how so many critics and fans hated Karate Kid III when it came out. "Take THAT, Robert Mark Kamen! Ah-Sai!!!"

Love your work man.
1. Tory's words to Robby at the prom "But if I could just win this one time, I could look at that trophy and know I was best at something" is a call back to Rocky's going the distance speech to Adrian.
2. The bottle of wine Terry kicks is of Robert Kamen's winery.
3. The packaging for the new Cobra Kai gear Terry unboxes is the same packaging as the SDC 2021 Deluxe Figure Box Set.
4. The three Ds were also introduced in Karate Kid part III.

Tory apologizing to Sam after accidentally striking her eye is done in a similar way Bobby Browne apologizes to Daniel for injuring his leg in Karate Kid.
