Lightroom 2024 is here. I'll show you the feature getting ignored in favor of cheesy lens blur.

The spot color tools and a game changer and Gavin shows you how to use them in today fast video. Fast because they are really easy to use and work amazing. Capture One is going to have a hard time competing with Lightroom 2024.

I've been wanting the HSL inside the masking tool. I believe this will work just as well. There's so many times when I want to change a specific color in one spot without effecting everything. I use Lumenzia in Photoshop a lot because I bracket a lot of my images. I also use it for dodging and burning. This new feature will help me do more work inside of Lightroom without having to go to Photoshop on images that don't require focus stacking or blending exposures. Lightroom has HDR but I don't like it as well because I don't have as much control.

Extremely helpful. Thanks for going so much into detail!

For Pros Lightroom doesn't beat Capture one until their color science improves. And it's not just just about vibrancy it's how the colors react to pushing the files, big differences in the shadows. I wish it weren't true since I'm already paying for Lightroom because of Photoshop.

My immediate reaction was the same. This was a key missing component for me in bouncing between C1 and LRC. I was so happy to see point color added to masking.

Nice video well done, all the new features in Lightroom don’t make you a better photographer they just give the impression that you are taking better pictures!

So the "killing feature" is the one Capture One already has? Seems kinda like clickbait to me

Why should a tool long ago within Capture One now implimented in Lightroom be a "killer"?
Having a plethora of images edited in a specif tool makes it is very difficult to switch. And the color rendering and accuracy in Capture One is far better. Though I admit the administration funntionality in Lightroom is much more elaborated and stable....

You should try clicking the arrow to the right of the range control - trust me, you'll like what it does.

The way point color works is exactly what I'd expect as a lifelong Adobe user. I'm glad they went that route instead of directly copying Capture One. Now if they could finally improve their Fuji RAW processing, I'd never look at switching to Capture One again. 🙂

😳 . . . and you can quote me.

Software like this is where Ansel Adams shakes hands with Victor Frankenstein!

Best wishes from Vermont - where the Autumn colours were disappointing this year. But, now I can fix them! 🍁

Alright, Adobe copied the point correction. But i still like to use C1 much more than LR and it still delivers better results from my RAWs… ;)

Oh, finally, like it was on Aperture! Welcome to 2008! I would love to have the ability to use the color picker on skintones instead of neutral gray areas too. It worked really well, it's more common to have people in the pictures compared to perfect greys.

What is your monitor size and resolution dude ? Or you can just tell the model and the brand :) thank you

Capture One handles shadows and highlights and raw conversion better than LR, and it's faster than LR on my laptop. Those 4 items are by far the most important for me.

Thank you for the video. Does this tool in Lightroom work to equalize colors on the face. That is where I think CaptureOne has had the edge for me. Equalizing the skin tones.

For me, at least for now, most of this info isn't relevant. That's only because I can't really afford to pay the crazy license prices for this software. Therefore, I use the free version of Capture One right now. Maybe someone here can answer a question. Is there a way to figure out if a set of styles for C1 will work in the free version before purchasing? Thanks, have a great week!

Wow! That was in C1 and Aperture 13 years ago! LIghtroom is not a substitute for C1 professionals. Leave the Lightroom to housewives

Happy to see the targeted color thing for masks. Nice video

As far as I'm considered, Lightroom killed itself when it went subscription only and LR 6 wouldn't install on 64-bit MacOS. I switched to a Capture One perpetual license which I'm still using today.
