I really love your vids, almost never comment on youtube, but really appreciated the enthousiasm again so I couldnt resist :) Im convinced you are teaching a lot of people a lot of interesting and complex things in a very pleasant way :)

It's also interesting that that graph is kinda continuous - it's not like the error jumps randomly between +/- 20000, but there are trends of different ranges to over- or underestimate.

Numberphile is for a general audience, you are usually not required to know anything past Algebra II to understand a numberphile video. Proving the PNT requires mathematics at undergraduate level, and there is simply no way to dumb it down the way they have in the past.

I dont know what I like more, the subjects of all your videos or just how enthusiastic everyone is. (It also helps that the videos are only made round the corner from me too ;-) )

Does Dr. James teach math(s)? He is a gifted mathematician, and if he does'nt
teach, he should. He explains mathematics far better than any teacher I've ever had. =)

Whoever dislike this video never smoked prime numbers

You really have a knack for explaining things plus you obviously love your subject. Both things are essential if you really want to help people understand (aka "teach"). I would have loved you as my math professor. As an engineer I used to think of math as a tool only, it took me long time to see it can actually be fun on its own.

too bad my math teachers could never explain things like you. I never did really understand math, but when you explain things its so easy to pick up.

I got a BS in Maths in 1997 and this video was the first time I had even heard of PNT. Thank you!

He said .001%. .0002 is .02%, which is off by a factor of 20.
(Note that "percent" is itself a factor of 100.)

That bit about the error should've been in the main vid, it really illustrates the point as clearly as possible. :)

The journey is always more interesting than the final result.

Get yourself a girl who looks at you like James looks at the Prime Number Theorem .

I laughed so hard about his face when he said. "which is close"

Wise words at the end. Thanks Brady for uploading this extra bit :-)

It's always worth the three-hour journey to see James "Twiddles" Grime.

That's not completely true though. You can always simplify explanations, but not without sacrificing part of the picture.

I'm wondering (stangely) what putting that graph into some kind of music creator/sound wave generator would produce. I'm thinking probably random noise but then it could be the answer to life the universe and everything also...

You're right that a link in the description works well for this kind of 'extra' video.

I guess I was thinking more about videos that overlap between channels. Often producers 'like' the video from all relevant channels, but that can get annoying. Most of the likes that show up on my all activities feed are for channels that I'm either already subscribed to or else already know about and definitely will not watch.
