Plato studied in Egypt and taught Aristotle who in turn taught Alexander. It all came full circle.

Its always insane for me to think that Egypt was considered historic even for romans and greeks

As scientists said: conquerors didn't effect over Egyptians, but Egyptians is the one who effected over conquerors

I have a question. Did the Egyptian elite still get to be elites or were they replaced with Macedonians?

It reminded me of Manchurias conquest of China. Now there’s very few Manchurias who even speak the language and mostly adapted to Han culture and Mandarin language.

I've been in Attica once, in a city near Athens, and i noticed an archeological site representing egyptian styled figures in a religious scenario, at first i was very curious and intrigued but unfortunately i couldn't visit the site as it was closed, but this video explains everything!

Like the romans were to us we were to the egyptians way before alexander, it was a dream of many to visit and study egypt along with any other relations the 2 cultures had, keeping that in mind, think about what the true meaning of the word barbarian is, when it could apply to a people the greeks held so much respect for

According to the "Pottery Maker Prophesy", Egyptians didn't welcome Alexander as a conqueror and even called him "the great dog" and never loved him though he did respected Egyptian culture and tried his best to earn their satisfaction and further claimed to be illegal son of the Egyptian king " Nekht Inbu II" claiming that he fled to "Macedonia" after his defeat to the persians and had an affair with Alexander's mother to give birth to him ..

Egyptians had ties with Greeks for long time before Alexander and respected them but that didn't change how they saw Greeks as only new invaders and since the age of "Potelmy II" till the very end Egyptians rebelled against each ruler including Cleopatra ..

They even aimed to burn Alexandria down and make Memphis once again the capital led by the rebellious "Hor Wen Nefr" and his friend "Ankh Wen Nefr" during the ages of "Potelmy IV" & "Potelmy V" ..

During their continuous rebel, Egyptians killed "Potelmy XI" and forced "Potelmy VIII" as well as "Potelmy XII" to flee

Again to emphasis the point, Egyptians has always respected the Greeks from the very beginning till now, but to Egyptians an intruder is an intruder .. his nice behavior doesn't change who he is ..

The only two exceptions in the Egyptian history whom Egyptians welcomed as conquerors - not invaders - were to be

1) "Amr Ibn Al-Aass" whom Egyptians demanded not once but twice to be appointed governor of Egypt

2) Salahdin whom Egyptians themself sent him letters to come and rule Egypt and end the reign of the Fatimy (Abbuidy)

I mean the Greek culture was so persuasive that they had Judeans uncircumcising themselves to fit it. Fell apart obviously when the Greeks allowed lower cultural norms to exist and continue.

It is very common for many conquerors to eventually adopt the practices and traditions of the people they’ve conquered.
I think the Vikings who conquered the Rus people eventually started speaking Russian and called themselves Russians. The Ottomans started drinking alcohol and adopted the food of the Balkans and Caucasus. The remainders of Greeks in India eventually assimilated into the local population.

Ptolomey started that rumor he was Alexander’s relative.

Same thing for various dynasties in China. Yuan for example were Mongols but adopted Chinese cultures, etc.
