I have to use an enema on occasion due to opoids from a chronic pain problem with my spine, I get on all fours, with head to ground, butty (I LOVE that) in air as high as possible on my knees I have found this position works best for me as gravity will help keep the saline in and less "messy". I'm usually laying on a clean bath towel as well and this takes place in the bathroom by stool with or without help.

Administer the enema as much as I can. Since your "clogged" it may take a minute for the solution to work. At times, it can take multiple attempts as I stop if the solution starts to leak out of my butty.

The enema solution actually can give you "diarrhea" sensation and you can feel the saline spreading through your intestines. NOT A GOOD FEELING. I feel sick at first. When I feel the pressure to go, I keep my hands on the floor, best I can, get on my feet and pivot to stool. . This helps keep things from leaking out including what's got you clogged. GROSS!!!! Use multiple towels if you need for comfort on your knees if you try this position. I have found this position works better than others. Course, the idea is to let the solution work as long as possible 5 min to a few hours. But I haven't ever managed to keep the "mixture in".

Just a few helpful tips. Use enema as a last resort. Try eats and drinks to help first. Magnesium works GREAT but can take a day or so depending on how clogged. Just make sure you stay near a bathroom. It'll be a sudden rush to the bathroom to avoid embarrassment. I would NEVER start magnesium just before bed. First thing out of bed in morning would be my recommendation.

Have fought constipation off and on 5 years. Takes me a minute to realize I'm there.

I had to use it for a patient (I am a caretaker) who suffered a stroke and temporarily lost the ability to feel the urgency of a bowel movement... in layman's terms, his brain didn't know how to push anymore. I started with a daily dose of prune juice, but that didn't do anything. Eventually the doctor told me to give the patient a suppository if there was no bowel movement after 3-4 days. When even that didn't work, an enema did the trick. I had to use it for a few weeks until the patient eventually got better and recovered from his stroke.

This was very very helpful and I did learn something from this video .. I needed to hear this .. due to diabetes I have occasional constipation and it hurts like hell.. just sharing this because i too was also very very scared even while reading these comments, i think i waited a little longer than i should’ve before taking this, and im going to be completely honest. i had a fu***ng exorcism in my bathroom with this thing, it was painful when my clogged up poo came out but it was a relief, I wasn’t even sure if I did it right or if the nuzzle was all the way in (just try your best !!!) the way i did it was not perfect but i made it work, and 4 mins laters the exorcism happened (while putting the nozzle and it feels stuck or won’t go in do NOT force it, or if you have bleeding do not use) do your research and follow instructions . good luck

That really helped me out today - was prepping for a dx test, and didn't know I could refill the bottle with warm water for 'insurance cleanup' (plus the over-the-toilet tip). Better results than with following the enema box instructions! Many thanks. (Test results aok - clean as a whistle!)

Nurse Susan, this topic begs the question are all buttholes created equal? I mean is the diameter of everyone's anus standard or does it vary from person to person?

Also I think not just myself and my girlfriend but everyone sometimes releases a giant poop so big it makes one wonder how it got pushed thru our small anuses without getting stuck or broken apart before it leaves our butts. How do large poops leave our small anuses?
