Another lamb ad. Another public outrage. This time the Hindu community are demanding a ban and an apology from Meat and Livestock Australia for showing Lord Ganesh eating meat.

I believe the biggest concern here is that New Zealand lamb is better than Australian lamb. Thats the controversy we should be focused on.

What's offensive? I'm just annoyed of the islamaphobia of the director and writer in not including the prophet muhammed it's almost like they think muslims can't take a joke and will try to behead them.... Oh wait d'oh!!!!

It's not about putting humor, it's about putting wrong thing, if you project Jesus as a killer or murderer what would be the reaction?(sorry for this). Make thing funny but not completely adverse. and it's nothing to do with India's meat export and hypocrisy.Freedom also comes with responsibility, don't abuse it...

Funnily enough as a Christian, I also find it offensive.

I am Hindu and I am not too religious and I eat lamb, goat, chicken, and sometimes pork, but it was a kind of offensive commercial about insulting Ganesha and the indian stereotypical accent and the stereotype about the other religions in the commercial . I have an atheist ( no religion ) friend who is a vegan actually, and you should offend with the Christian rock, Buddha, geisha. But we need to mention India exports 20% of the worlds beef, and in Gujarat, many cow slaughterhouses are owned by Hindus .

So Mohammad not coming on table. Lord Ganesha is Vegetarian, may be you should have got Kali instead but then fear would be safety of other Lords

Some people do take the image of Ganesha and various gods quite seriously. Story on Youtube about Aussie tourists in India with tattoos of the gods on their legs.

Do people even realize they were atheist until they were introduced to religion.

People aren't born with preconceived notions... They are cast upon you.

I'll just leave that there.

There's always a zealot somewhere. As a meat eating HINDU (beef is also yummy!), I thought the ad was witty. As someone else in the comments also pointed out, some of the biggest beef exporters are Hindus (India provides 20% of the WORLD'S beef) and NO WHERE is it written that Hindus cannot/should not eat beef. Aside from that, WHICH Hindu god or goddess IS depicted eating meat anyway?!! So, it doesn't matter whether it's Ganesh or Durga. Hmm, maybe the goddess Kali, as she receives animal sacrifices? My point is, Hindus around the world need to EMBRACE our openness and laugh more. Hinduism is one of the most "cool" religions out there; even an atheist is considered a Hindu. Let's not deteriorate into becoming fatwa issuing, blind followers of a religion that has no beginning, no end and no leader. I think "the gods and goddesses" (all 330 million!) have a sense of humor among them. Don't you? Jai Hind!

Eating a sheep that is less than 1 year old is cruel. Lamb is infant sheep.

This isn't offensive even though I am a Hindu people are being too butthurt about this plus I didn't see the God eating meat.

India is the biggest exporter of CARA beef (buffalo) not beef (cow).
