My family LOVED this! Served with/in ice burg lettuce wraps. At first, I wasn't sure about the ground beef vs. steak/beef. It was delicious. I will absolutely make it again.

If you were going to use steak instead of ground beef do you think it would come out with enough fat for the sauce? Also, if it would work what cut of steak would you suggest?

This looks so good, Chef. Interestingly enough, yesterday at the grocery store I picked up both oyster and hoisin sauces! Great food safety tip, I'm sure very few people know to do that. As I'm watching you cook this up, being familiar with the ingredients and flavors, my mouth is watering....looks delicious! Those plated pictures looked spectacular. Great recipe, Chef!

Well, I have to admit I was somewhat skeptical on the ground beef aspect for this recipe. But you recovered nicely, and now I’m going to bust this dish out for dinner. Good job…

I really don't think you have to worry about cross contamination, you're stirring all those ingredients into boiling fat which kills any bacteria. I don't bother with that kinda thing only in extreme circumstances saying if you're working with chicken or whatnot, but in nearly 60 years never suffered any type of food poisoning whatsoever, and that's even been at times I've used old outdated grayed meat. But to each their own. Peace.
