The Direction is fine.

The pacing is pretty shite.

Seeing Ned and Rob be killed didn't make me happy but knowing that plot amour isn't a thing makes me respect the story thus making me like the show even more than i would if both survived.

As the saying goes, “when you have a dragon, everything begins to look like matchsticks”.

Or was it something about a hammer?

Before the battle of the Blackwater, Varys says, "I hate the bells. They always ring for horror." Shortly after that, Ser Davos says, "I've never known the bells to mean surrender."

Wonderful sir! You really beat down those strawmen and their arguments(that no actual sane person would make and probably no one in-fact did) as well as blatantly contradict things D&D themselves have said about the story and plot...

"Cersei jump off cliff seeing Jamie with Brienne" <- I laughed LOL

My one complaint about Arya's character is that she seemed to abandon the idea of "the loan wolf dies, but the pack survives" in episode 4. They made a big deal about her reclaiming her family, only for her to suddenly decide to go on this 'kill Cersei' mission and leave Winterfell and her family behind. That's what was off putting. That and she reverted to the mentality that being a Lady meant sitting around and being subservient. Lyanna was a tiny warrior Lady (and Lyanna's mother died in battle fighting for Robb), Dany rides a dragon into battle, and Sansa is pulling the strings and pretty much the seat of power in the North (plus the vale). Arya should have known that being a lady is more than needle work and popping out babies

I’m fine with how everyone has died, it’s more that I don’t like how quickly it’s all happened, it should be 10 ep

I'm sorry but that first point is not entirely correct. GRRM was very hands on for the first 4 seasons, but after the show overtook the book, he began to spend most of his energy writing the books and not on the show. He gave them an outline, but he did not "advise" them unless they went to him. Which, according to GRRM's statements on the seasons after his departure, seem to be once in a blue moon if any. Also, all of those big episodes you mentioned...couldn't help but notice they were all big visual episodes. People love those. I love those. But you cannot compare that with the intrigue and PLOT that was so abundant throughout the first 4 seasons. So... FACTUALLY wrong depending on the wording of the complaint. The real complaint should be that the plot of the show got weaker each season starting with season 5.

It's the pacing of season 8 that's the problem. They've tried to cram about 2 full seasons worth of story into just over half a season. As best I can see, there was no reason to do this. My opinion anyway.

With this season I don't mind *what* has happened, but I don't like *how* it all happened, i.e rushed sub-plot lines or character development being thrown out despite their end goal being achievable without ruining character development.

Just out of curiosity, completely unrelated, does anyone remember that scene from South Park when Kyle tries to convince everyone that Mr Hanky isn't just a piece of shit he's pulled from the toilet?

D&D majorly messed up by not accepting the extra seasons

If they didn't want to be involved any longer, they should've passed the mantle onto someone who cared

Great points. I myself am not mad where the direction of the show is going, i just wanted it to take its tome to get there. I could have used 2-3 episodes between 4 & 5 showing a more gradual descent to madness, and Varys becoming more and more untrustworthy.

If you watch the “behind the episodes” videos you’ll find that a lot of what you say contradicts what the writers said about the episodes.

None of them talked about dany “coming to terms with what she’s about to do” while she’s hearing the bells.

You can add whatever meaning you want just don’t act like your opinion is the only valid one

Was about to agree with you that S8 is actually good. Then i remembered they had 100k Dothraki commit suicide to get a nice shot of the fire going out.

If those damn Dragon eggs hadn't hatched none of this would have happened. The night king and his entourage would still be chillin by the wall.

Ah i just understand the bell meaning. It is a shift of responsibility. As long as the bell not ringing, the fault is in cersei's shoulder as the one that doesn't want to surrender. But when the bell ringing it is full danny's fully responsibility for the slaughter.
Thank you for the insight

I thought Jamie’s arc was written as a real person. He always wanted his first love. He even told his daughter “you can’t help who you love”. He was the realest of them all.
Dany...oh gods....I have seen hints since the beginning that she was crazy. But I always hoped I was wrong.... I wasn’t.
I’m not emotionally prepared for tonight. Y’all say a prayer to the old gods for me...
