I think the best course a indie dev can go, if they want to make it big, is to make a theory bait video game like that. If by chance your game gets popular, it will have a better chance at staying relevant and the next release will be more anticipated rather than laying out the plot nicely

Honestly, this game looks like it could be good. The uncannily smooth and weirdly textured look of the game kinda reminds me of channels such as Surreal Productions or Hydraulic Beanbag, which definitely has the potential to be scary. As long as they actually try to make the game good, and not just another cash cow made to leech off the success of games like it, then this game has actual potential.
