It Doesn't Get More Effortless Than No-Bake Cookies

You can make these rich, chocolatey no-bake cookies in less than 20 minutes! This super simple recipe is naturally egg-free and flour-free with just a few common ingredients.

Ingredients
½ cup salted butter cut into Tablespoon-sized pieces (113g)
½ cup whole milk¹ (120ml)
1 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed (200g)
1 cup granulated sugar (200g)
¼ cup cocoa powder (25g)
⅔ cup creamy peanut butter² (165g)
1 ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
3 cups instant/quick oats³ (285g

Instructions
00:00 Introduction
Prepare two cookie sheets by lining with wax paper and set aside.
00:39 Combine butter, milk, sugars, and cocoa powder in a medium-sized saucepan over low heat. Don't bump up the heat to speed up the process or you run the risk of your ingredients not combining properly and your cookies not setting properly.
01:15 Stir ingredients frequently until butter is completely melted (I recommend using a long wooden spoon as a metal spoon can become really hot).
01:59 Increase heat to medium and, stirring constantly, bring to a boil.
02:12 Boil, still stirring constantly, for 1 minute (I recommend using a timer, see post for more details on why it's important to not over or under-boil) then remove from heat. Continue to stir the mixture for several seconds.
02:32 Add peanut butter and vanilla extract, stirring until peanut butter is completely combined and melted into the mixture.
02:45 Add oats and stir until coated in chocolate.
03:09 Drop no bake cookie mixture by approximately 1 ½-2 Tablespoon-sized spoonfuls onto prepared cookie sheet.
03:45 Allow to cool (approximately 20-30 minutes) before serving, the cookies will harden as they cool.

Notes
¹I have only ever made these cookies using whole milk and that is what I recommend. However, readers have reported success using 2% milk, skim milk, evaporated milk, and almond milk.
²I do not recommend using a natural peanut butter (the kind where the oil separates).
³You may substitute old-fashioned oats but the cookies will have a different texture. Please see my post for more information.

I was waiting to see a close-up of the inside to get a visual of the moistness of the fudgie consistency. Thank you for the wonderful video. I'll have to make some❤️🥳

Does it get any better or easier than no bake cookies!!..other than quick & easy & yummy, they are also pretty healthy.. one of the snacks i made for my 5 quite often.
I do use jiff xtra crunchy peanut butter because I like peanuts!! And sometimes i would add coconut for a different twist..so when we have a get together with my kids and my grandkids there is no question about it..Grandma will have no bake cookies for all to enjoy.
Thank you for your cooking show..I really enjoy you and your recipes..you have a great personality and presentation..Teresa

Oh, wow, Sam! I just made this exact same recipe a couple days ago! I LOVE these! But I spoon the mixture into a buttered 8x8 pan and cut them into squares. I cooked the mixture an additional 30 seconds so it would set up property. They are delicious!

I LOVE every oats: bread, cookies and muffins. I make a similar cookie, also make them without the cocoa and a third way, without the peanut butter. And with nuts when I have them. Delish!

Sam, I used to make them starting at the age of 7(with adult standing by 😉).... My Gramma always put about 2Tlbs.of Corn Syrup in the mix, too 😁...I guess for "glossiness"??? Lol....not sure why, but I've always added that 😉....and I've never used Brown Sugar; just white sugar. I'm really liking the combo you use, 1/2 granulated & 1/2 brown sugar, to your recipes. Gives recipes a more "Rich" flavor. I LOVE the taste of brown sugar 🤎😁😉

The way these cookies look, put me in the mind of my homemade chocolate covered roasted salted sunflower seed clusters, which also takes about 20 minutes to make. This no-bake cookie recipe, looks like a must try, I will try and devour! 😂😋SMACK-A-LICIOUS!!!

Love these Cookies! My mom use to make them all the time when I was Young. 💜💜 I use to get the pan when she was done. I’d tryin scrape it out the best I could. Cause by then the Chocolate was hardened against the sides. Lol

Hey!!! I'm just learning about your channel and love your content! I'm a midwest native, and the trademark cake around here is a Gooey Butter cake. Could you instruct us on how you would make it? The southern Buttermilk pie is also an amazing dish. Thanks!
