In this video we talk about some of the common heat pump myths and provide insider tips into how to get the best heat pump for your home and whether or not a heat pump is right for your specific situation and climate. He palms have made a lot of headlines recently, but it’s actually not a new technology. The inflation reduction act as well as other rebates and incentives in other municipalities have made it more appealing to get a heat pump and provided a financial incentive to help with some of the cost, but you want to make sure you’re getting the best heat pump for your home and not just buying something because he qualifies for a rebate.

I’m convinced that these are better than Trane or Lennnox. Been researching. Thanks.

We install a Nordic models Mitsubishis, like LN25/35 and FT25/35. Model numbers has the letter Z that means it's made for Nordic, i.e. MUZ-FT35VGHZ

Heat Pumps are great depending on where you live and your particular situation. After living in Colorado for years where heat pumps do make sense for many people, try moving to northern New England...where heat pumps are a very tough sell, for very justifiable reasons.
* Energy inefficient/old homes, trees bring power lines down/Ice storms/Nor'easter
* This past Feb we had -20 F temps w/-30 F windchills
* Many people here are on Propane/NG w/15KW+ Generac (backup)
* Too cloudy, too many trees, too far north to get real Solar benefits
* When ice/snow gets on roads/any surface it tends to stay, with no Sun to burn it off
Oh and ironically...most of the electrical power here comes from burning NG and 50-60% of that NG comes from Russia. The Jones Act prevents domestic NG shipments via ship/boat and New York state prevents pipelines from crossing their state coming into New England.
So as you can see a VERY different situation than back in Colorado.

Any thoughts on energy / heat recovery ventilators?

Dual-fuel systems are the only way to go. I am a Denver area HVAC dealer and 90% of all systems I sell, when necessary, then my clients get a Daikin/Amana HP and NG furnace, especially, if they have a solar array.

you, like most every other installer don't talk about the true cost of owning a heat pump. Heat pumps in heating mode typically run constantly so they need cleaning and Iam not talking about washing the flimsy air filter. Every 2 to 3 years they need to be professionally cleaned and it is expensive. The cost of service and repair of major components can be more than the heat pump itself.

Daikan heat pumps work better than like a Goldman heatpump won’t even last where you live at

well this should be good. For starters just so its known im an HVAC tech and have been for 15+ years, with my sheetmetal/gasfitting/welding and refrigeration tickets. Along with MET and air/water balancing degrees so im VERY in the know on HVAC. Ok so thats not cold man, where im at its regularly -40 F (-40C) in winter. They dont keep up. They get stopped pretty dead in their tracks at -13F (-25C) and freeze so not a myth. Also you should know that the freon used is kinda what decides its low operational temp. Heat pumps are most certainly noisy, they are no different than an AC condenser. cause well thats exactly what they are. Your just a salesman and this video kinda proves it.
