I know this video was from like a week ago, but was able to get out to my local course and try the goals challenge. I did it for 18 holes and chose to focus on the same criteria: Fairways Greens Birdies. It really helped me to forget about my score and focus on hitting middle of fairways and greens. I plan to use this goal system the next time I get out to play. Appreciate the video.

This is good stuff, Matt. I took this approach in our weekly men’s club 9-hole event, focusing only on the simple goals of fairways, greens and pars. I didn’t quite meet my goals, but when I added up the score it was 6 strokes better than last week and I took 1st place! Amazing. I think what this does is force you to take one hole at a time and then, good or bad, quickly forget it and move on to the next hole. I like it - thanks for the tip! 👍

This is a terrific way to practice/play. On the front nine I hit 6 fairways yesterday. But only 2 greens. Meh. But two birdies! Chipped one in from way far out. One of the best feelings in all of golf. 2 over on the front. Then proceeded to just go gardening on the back nine. If I had set some goals...might have gone better! I'll be giving it a try. Just subscribed. Great content on here. Love your attitude.

Great video, re train our brain on the course to maximize our enjoyment of the game. I'm trying the goal setting for 9 this summer, how many pars (not birdies), fairways, GIR, etc.

I use 18Birdies which allows me to set goals. I set my goals as 1 birdie, 8 GIR, 8 pars, and 11 fairways. I can really see a lot of improvement.
