US Navy pilots said to be OK after a US guided missile cruiser mistakenly shot down their jet

The Pentagon says the jet had just taken off from the deck of the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier when one of the ships in its strike group, the USS Gettysburg, mistakenly shot it down in an apparent case of "friendly fire." The Truman strike group is based in Norfolk.
