DVD drive can't open

DVD drive or DVD Write. Problem with open the caddy drive.

I have a less intrusive solution for a non-opening drive. Never close it without a disc in the tray, this way, the hub magnet never achieves full grip for the eject motor to fight. It doesn't matter if it's a blank disc, a good or bad burn or even a non-silvered disc from a stack of blanks. I've had a few drives with this problem.

So long story short I did a cartwheel and it broke of the button panel that opens it but the drive works fine and I had a closer look and there was a small plastic stick that when the button was pressed would make the stick touch the sensor that opens it and the sensor had like a small orange transparent sticker on and that’s just come off and now it won’t open.... help would be appreciated thanks

QUESTION? If I keep a few belts replacement, just in case that my cd player breaks down.
Is there a way to preserve the rubber belt for a long time. I was told to put the rubber in baking soda, do you have a better advice?

Hi, are you technician? I have an issue with more than 6 or 7 of my really old cdrom drives from the 90s and 2000s, even after replacing the rubber, when i insert disc it will try to read it and spin but it wont read it, but if i hold with my hands the dvd drive vertically with the tray facing up, or vertically at 70 degrees with the tray facing up...it starts to read the discs perfectly and drives are all functional. This i have NO clue why it happens, i was goint to trash a lot of CD and dvd drives untill i noticed this weird thing about holding it facing up they all worked.

Just bought mine £89, an LG M-Disc -Blur-ray Drive. The green light flashes but it won't open. I have to manually shove a thin metal stick into the hole to open it...Then!...When closed, it won't read the discs....It shows up in devices as working, yet it won't read the blu-ray disc to extract music-only tracks from it....
