I agree about having individual ingredients and learning to make meals with them. I’ve been holed up for two weeks due to the virus and never once felt I was missing an ingredient to make a meal. That’s a good way to test your preps: don’t leave your house for a long period of time.

I listen to very few channels. You're one of the few because you are honest. And you tell the truth. Thank you sir and God bless you and your family

The best investment I made last year was buying a pressure canner. I have canned over 2 hundred jars of meat. Ground beef and pork, stewing beef, meatballs, roast beef, pork tenderloin. We have had a few jars and it tastes way better than you might think!!

I sprout lentils and chickpeas garbanzo beans. Sprout till 1 inch long, blend into a creamy dip. Add raw garlic salt and oil to season.

I have a 6/10 case of hard red wheat that I purchased in 2009. It was the un-processed kind, the one you have to grind yourself. I opened a can in 2009 to make some bread. I checked it in the fall. it's like i just bought it. This stuff lasts forever.

Yup, store the things you need to make the things you need. I have some convenience items just because 😊, but I have mostly staples. Potato flakes can be used as thickener or flour extender for breads.

Agreed about sugar, honey, salt, spices (onion powder, garlic powder), etc. you can also find powdered butter and eggs online.

A few other prepper food items I would add to the list: peanut butter and oats. Still easy to find, and energy dense.

One 50lb. bag of rice, beans, etc. provides base calories for one person for one month. 2, 000 calories per day. Read the labels, do the math. Add canned fruits, vegetables, meat, etc.

Ohio we've had rain non stop for a few days. Happy to report my solar lights came through. When I walked outside (motion activated) they came on.

Yeast can die off. We bake bread every week and had packets that went off and it would not rise. Learn to make yeast plant or potato yeast plant to bake with.

I can say this, surefire did the same thing when I used them . I will never use surefire again. When it counts you need your gear to work. I know Olight is what it is, but for the money I can buy three or four of the plights for the price of one surefire. One is none and two is one. You know what I mean. To each their own.

Just a quick note on the Red Winter Wheat . In the ealy 1800 CatherineThe Great of Russia issued a manifesto inviting farmers from across Europe to settle in Russia. They were given land, freedom of religion and freedom from taxes for 10 years and freedom from conscription into the military . When the leadership changed and the communists were doing revolutionary activities, the German and Dutch population packed up and took off for America and Canada .
One of the things they brought with them was boxes of Turkish Red Wheat . They planted this across the plains states and central and western Canada where it took off like crazy . There was such an abundance of wheat crop that they were selling it worldwide.

I have made a cake that I ground hard white wheat. It was quote interesting. The guys at my daughter's birthday party didn't seem to mind it so I sent it home with them. Quick breads are much better with fresh ground wheat.
