In this video, we’re going to talk about two causes of tingling and numbness in your hands and feet.

One common cause of tingling of the hands and feet is vitamin B1 deficiency. This can occur if you’re consuming a lot of refined carbohydrates and sugars. If you’re pre-diabetic or diabetic, you’re likely to have a B1 deficiency.

If you have a vitamin B1 deficiency, you’ll want to consume benfotiamine. Benfotiamine is a fat-soluble form of vitamin B1, and will penetrate the fat layer around the nervous system called myelin.

If you have severe symptoms, you can take four benfotiamine doses spread out over the course of the day. If you have mild symptoms, one per day should be fine.

Calcium deficiency can also cause numbness and tingling in your hands and feet. A highly absorbable calcium supplement can help. Calcium aspartate anhydrous is a great option because about 98 percent of it absorbs into your body.

In order to help relieve your tingling and numbness, it’s important to pinpoint which deficiency is causing your problem.

Symptoms of vitamin B1 deficiency include:
• Nervousness
• Poor memory

I went to the doctor for this issue and the idiot told me it was anxiety and it was all in my head. I’m definitely B1 deficient. Going to get some tomorrow. Thank you so much Dr.Berg.

Ever since I came across Dr. Berg some years ago has he been a source of information for me. So too again when my wife came home from a hospital appointment with Gabapentin to suppress the numbness in her arm and hand. And while chemicals do have a role to play in modern medicine, eliminating the symptom rather than "attacking" the cause makes little sense to me. Upon listening to your (perfectly logical) explanation I asked my wife to wait to take the chemicals in favor of Benfotamine. Sure enough, within two weeks all symptoms had disappeared.

Dr. Berg, the world owes you a profound "thank you" for all the information you have provided us over the years. To come across people who are both passionate and knowledgeable is a valuable "find." Please keep educating the many people around the world!

Went through this before I started Keto and IF. I would get this when I would cycle for any length of time. Never knew what caused it. Thankfully since starting Keto and IF it is long gone. Thanks once again Dr Berg.

I’ve been having pins and needles in hands and feet at night then random parts of my body during the day- thinking the worst I was already planning on making a doctor appointment when I thought to search your videos. I have some of the calcium def symptoms so started taking calcium. Pins and needles after only a week are almost completely gone. Thank you for all your informative videos!🥰

Feb 16 it all started on the tip of my toes. Burning sensation, then the next 2 weeks spread to bottom of feet. Started taking B Complex pills twice a day and one tablespoon of nutritional went away in about one week but came back even worse. Well turns out I overdosed on B vitamins and Nutritional yeast and it caused my feet, thighs and fore arms to be oversensitive and burn throughout the day. It was a nightmare. So i switched it up. Stopped all sources of B vitamins and started taking one pill a day of calcium d3 and magnesium that i found at GNC. When I made this change it took about 2 weeks for symptoms to gradually start fading away. Maybe I needed more calcium...so started keto. Now at four months away I have no burning or numbness. I do cardio with light weight intensive excersise. I eat beef liver once a week and that covers my B vitamin deficiency and my leafy green juice twice a day which covers my magnesium and calcium (kale, chard and spinach). Took 3-4 months to figure this out. Trial and error. BE VERY PATIENT and stay positive BIG THANKS TO DR ERIC BERG he is a life saver!!!!

My old neighbor is 91 and lost his wife earlier this year. During a recent conversation he said he can hardly get around because of the numbness in his hands and feet. I will give him a call and see if his Dr has suggested this. Thank you.

It's very interesting that some people with the medical condition of anxiety, experience numbness in their finger tips. Having looked at those symptoms of the B1 deficiency they are very similar to what someone with high anxiety can go through.

Started the benfotiamine a few weeks ago. Started with the 4 a day because my toes were quite numb - no diabetes. I think it was too much... felt weird but slept like a top and was so relaxed - I had slept tense for decades... really! Took 4 150mg only a couple of days, stopped to clear my head and body. Am back on 1 per day. Toes only a little tingley, sleeping well and I feel much better. Would like to transition to getting my B1 from nutritional yeast and drop the synthetic if possible. Would love to know how best to do this. Thanks so much, Dr Berg, for all of your wonderful videos.
