Aussie man discovers bat hanging off pet dog

This was the bizarre moment a man from Bundaberg Central, Queensland, Australia, discovered a huge bat hanging from his pet dog.

In footage captured on February 16, the large bat is seen hanging from the collar of 9-year-old Staffordshire bull terrier Buddy, who has been battling cancer for the last two years.

Buddy appears calm but very confused as owner Demetrias Rejtano tries to suss out the situation.

The bat flaps its wings trying to release itself from the position it has found itself in while Buddy moves around still confused.

The video went wild on TikTok amassing over 300,000 likes and 2.2 million views.

Rejtano is heard in the video saying "Don't bring it in here" and get it off ya!"

He told Newsflare: "I walked out to my backyard and found a bat hanging off my dog.

"I didn't know what to do, I was pretty scared because I knew that the bat had diseases and I did not want it to bite my dog or scratch my dog.

"So I tried to keep calm and I knew that my dog would get it off him by shaking.

"He eventually got it off and the bat had a broken wing. It was one of the craziest things I've ever seen."
