Women produce their entire lifetime supply of eggs before their birth. Over time, both the number and quality of these eggs degenerate. This is the reason why older women have a higher rate of infertility.

Sometimes, younger women will also run low on good quality eggs. This is known as decreased ovarian reserve. Women who face this issue have a much lower chance for conceiving a baby.
.
One treatment option available for women with poor ovarian reserve is egg donation. Using the technology of IVF, good quality eggs from another woman can be fertilized and placed into the uterus of the infertile woman.

Because the eggs are very high quality, the pregnancy rates using egg donation can be remarkable high.

Ha ha happy to see this video! I follow your channel. Very insightful. I’ve asked a few questions that you’ve answered regarding IVF, so thank you! I’m also using donor eggs. All of my eggs have been PGS tested, came back normal, as much as normal can be I guess. I am on my third transfer coming up. The first one did not result in a pregnancy, the second one did, I was only a few weeks pregnant and miscarried. So I’m really hoping for a positive outcome this time. I’ve had every single test done on me known to IVF and I’ve been put on Norethindrone and Letrozole for the past two months. (I think my doctor said it was preventative measures to make sure the uterus was subdued?) 🤷🏼‍♀️ I just started my Estrace (Estradiol) And I’m preparing for another transfer February. My egg donor was 31 years old. She’s a proven donor 🤷🏼‍♀️ whatever that means . How good of an outcome do you think I have? I have no known health issues. I’ve had biopsy done on my uterus it came back normal, all my blood tests and results came back normal. I don’t have any immunity issues. It would be great to know what you think. Thank you!
