I'd choose to be losing positionally because my opponent might not be able to punish me, but if I'm down an exchange, I'm straight up just losing.

wait. how is this a trap. rd6 allows knights and bishops to trade for equal material, but black ends up with a developed rook and white's king is still in the open. my 200 elo brain is confused

First of all you missed two moves for the kings Indian defense which stop that entire trap from happening, and second of all that not how you spell defense.
