That spinach/dry food kube is pure genious. Thanks for this! I have 9 kuhli loaches and one giant kuhli (Pangio myersi) in my 180 liter tank (47 gallons for you Americans) and I try to feed them right before the light go out in the evening and I also try to bring as much food to the bottom as I can (always the same spot, to train them where to find food). I give them bloodworms, water fleas and loach/corydoras food from a can. They seem very happy with this.

and oh, I have the giant kuhli because the pet shop wrongfully labeled it as a regular kuhli. As soon as I got home I noticed it was a pangio myersi though. The stripes are different. More white at the belly and the thing is a giant compared to its cousins. They get along though. The giant kuhli sleeps in a pile with the regular kuhli's during the day.

for those with small aquariums around 3-5 gallons the dwarf kuhli loach or pangio cuneovirgata is a better option. turns out my 6 are of that kind despite being sold as common kuhlis. they look similar but are rarer, only get 2 inches and the saddles are restricted to the upper half of the body with the lower half being a pinkish silver. the only thing is that they are shyer and will burrow when spooked. would be great betta tankmates

I have 5 of these in my 10 gallon with sand substrate. My tank is heavily planted and rocks for them to hide, they are doing great.

You could also cap your gravel with some sand if you notice issues with the barbels. Thanks for the great video! ❤

I have 11 (3 species) in a heavily planted 40g aquarium with river rock piles, caves and drift wood. The tempt is 80 and pH is 8.2. Since they get obese I target feed once a week, the rest of the time they are searching for left overs. Doesn't stop a couple from being fat, but the rest are healthy weights. I feed them a huge variety including frozen baby brine shrimp, blood worms and various sinking pellets. They are happy and thriving, I see on average 4-8 at any given time I look at the tank (even middle of the day). They ALL come out for brine shrimp day 😂

To everyone here i recommend Hikari massivore delite for the khuli all my bottom dwellers love it including the khuli :) this will gives them lots of protein too xD. I feed mine alternatively with other algae foods. They'll eat easy if the food is near mulm/algae/hieing spot as well as if the food is a bit solid like the cube in this video instead of smaller pellets.

I enjoyed your narration! I have a very established 4 gallon w/much mulm, leaves, sand, soil and plants. Do you think 3 Kulis are enough? Also, I don't use a lid, so should I skip getting them?

i got six today and alongside some cories and a peacock gudgeon who only wants things like chopped mealworms and bloodworms and i witnessed one of them grab a mealworm chunk and vigorously shake it to get to the meat inside. very unexpected

My LFS just got a small shipment of kuhli loaches yesterday. There were 4 left today and I was gonna get them all but we only managed to catch 2 and the other 2 were nowhere to be found. I'm so bummed.
