I got two kuhli loaches from a friend who could no longer keep them. I released them to my community tank and didnt see them for 2 years. Today I started a total redo of my setup and found 5! So I guess I was a succesful by accident :D

I have been able to train mine to go into the net when i do deep cleans on some of my tanks. I started out putting their favorite food in the net and they learned that the net means brine shrimp so they want to go into it.

These have always seemed to be the Party fish of the aquarium. Remind me of some guys that lived next door in the 70's. Party hard all night, sleep all day afterwards.

I managed to convince my snake-phobic mom that I had bought 4 water-dwelling snakes for my tank.

She almost had me emancipated then and there. Worth it.

Kuhli are my favorite fish, honestly. I have 3 striped and 1 black loach in a guppy communal tank and they're always out playing. they spend most of their time swimming around and against the glass, along my bubble wall and playing in their sand pool that I put in there so they could burrow separately than my planted substrate. They've managed to become the stars of my tank. I got them after watching this video months ago when I was first getting into the hobby. Thanks for all you do cory!

These guys can be world hide and seek champions, I had a few of them in a tank and years past and I thought they were long dead, it wasnt until I moved house and redid the tank I found them living in my undergravel filter !!! cool fish. 😂

"mostly shy" and "nocturnal" definitely doesn't describe my bunch of nutters, I don't think they ever sleep. Definitely agree easy to keep, only lost one to the filter before we started wrapping the inlet with very course sponge to let them grow out.

I love my Kuhli Loaches, everyone always says that they hide away but mine are out constantly. Probably helps that i've got them in a well planted tank, so they know if they are ever in danger they have plenty of places to hide.

i had a school (8) of buenos aires tetra in a tank. I moved them to a larger tank. i used SOME of the gravel for the new tank. Now the original tank has guppies in it. A female guppy is very pregnant, so I'm watching out for fry every morning. Well, today ( full weeks after the move) I found two Buenos Aires fry in my guppy tank. Still no guppy fry. i didn't intend to breed buenos aires, but they're here and they're welcome!

I am in the process of starting a heavily planted tank and have been researching for days. Kuhli loaches will be the largest fish in this 45 gallon tank. Everything else will be nano sized. Super excited....Cory has been my #1 go to on EVERY SINGLE FACET OF RESEARCH I HAVE COMPLETED. He explains in a way I understand...every time I pulled my hair out over something like CO2 or substrate, Cory had the answers. Love this guy!

I used to have two Kuhli loaches... very hardy and made me feel I was a very good pet owner because they lived for at least 8 or 9 years in my aquarium. Also, they seemed not to need any “care” at all. Lol. Planning to get three Kuhli loaches (just in the process of getting back into my childhood hobby... thanks to the pandemic). ;-)

Big question, will they be capable of eating planaria worms? :)

I have a couple of Khuli loaches. They looked great when I put them in. Yep, great seeing them once in a blue moon.

I love the look of these. When I get a bigger tank I might order some online.
