Oh Dear! ‘Part of Britain’ … They have tartan linings because Barbour is a Scots name, the founder originated from there and the waxed material is still made in Dundee, Scotland at Halley Stevenson. The city that provided waxed sails for Nelson and the Royal Navy at Trafalgar.
Connected fact: Ian Fleming’s (007) grandfather was from Dundee as was his father (born Newport-On-Tay, F Fife-over the River.) Still streets and buildings built by, and named after, them.
