GoFundMe recently hit the $3 billion mark in terms of funds raised on their platform. Many other people around the world are harnessing the power of crowdfunding and social media to raise money for personal causes!

I just donated to a good cause, and was notified via email that they charged me $15(called it a tip) for donating$100. I have two
problems with this(1) the amount is excessive to me(2) there was nothing in the donation process that alerted me about this charge or gave me the option to "donate" or not-it just shows they billed me after the donation. This more than pissed me off. I have no problem with gofundme needing to cover cost or whatever, but $15 is too much and I would like to know about it up front. Will never donate via gofundme again-ever.

I know for a fact when I die, many probably will go to the GoFundMe and put a lot of money to the point where my family won't have to worry about any expenses at all for my funeral. When you have a great heart and personality, you never know what you might get back in return for that.

I have adopted parents mom and pops. Pops is a veteran from the Vietnam war. Agent orange veteran and in need of a reliable way to get to and from their doctors appts. Their vehicle is considerably in need of repairs. I their daughter are taking them back and forth to Drs visits to the V.A. appointments. They could use any and all help. And my I ad the most loving and compassionate human beings you could ever know. Local volunteers, always loving and truly appreciative of their blessings.

I listen to the whole video, surprisingly. I found the video pitch very informative. I guess people here, were expecting for you to show how it is done in the actually gofundme website. Is the reason why so many negative comments. Thank you. I have about $40, 000 in students loans I would like to get rid off, but since gofundme is relative family and friends related, for get it.

I need to raise at least $500 tonight to finish paying for an open heart surgery for my grandpa (otherwise they won't perform the surgery) and a possible $10, 000 or more total to cover the debt incurred from medical expenses... You seem to have lots of videos covering crowd- funding... I hope your tips help my family in this time of great need. Thanks for posting these videos.

Hmm i wonder if i should try this for my mom in law she has cancer and just had major surgery to where she needs one of those power chairs to get around. Shes young enough yet she wants to keep up with her grandkids but those chairs are more expensive then i thought!

Thank you, I live in a studio apartment with 5 family members. There’s mold everywhere and the walls are cracking (the floors have broke as well), since I’m a student its hard for me to work and pay tuition. My brother is next to go into college. Hi. I tried to start a campain, but I can only choose the donations to go to an existing foundation. And you said in this video that you can also raise funds for personal things. (In my case, I want to open an animal shelter.) How would I go about doing that?

Salvador's explanations were useful because I do want to donate, I have donated once to a young man who need financial help for housing to go to school away from home, on Facebook. This video explained the details and I understood. I feel better about donating to Go Fund Me and to use it for myself☺

I just donated $1000 to a gofundme campaingn for Tenley in Kelowna, Canada. gofundme charged me an additional $125 as a Tip. As I understood tip not optional. So now are fees: 8% plus 12.5% tip so : 20.5%? If so gofundme is getting a substantial amount above costs.
