I feel if the family and friends were going to help someone in need of starting a GoFundMe campaign, there may not be a need to start a campaign. Because most of the times the family and friends knew help was needed and did not give it prior to the campaign. And this could cause distance between the campaigner and family, friends, and shy away from social media. However, this does not apply to every situation, mostly personal needs or tragedies.

as a qualified therapist and student counsellor i can tell you, . your definitions of Empathy and sympathy are quite wrong. The most basic definition difference: Empathy is to see the issue or life through the eyes of the other person. Sympathy is to see the others issues or pain from your own perspective. one is introspective the other is not. You can have feelings and feel what the other person feels or anticipate this, wether its empathiy or sympathy, .
