I'm posting this little wip due to I'm working with snail speed with this one. Some shots I just wanna redo... Not gonna drop it, but its getting there!

I adore the way you incorporate the signature animal of the gods into their designs. The way Zeus' horns form a crown and his braided hair resembles a tail is so clever

even if is not finished, GIRL YOU EAT THAT! and I find it a little funny that Odysseus is being dragged by both Zeus here and Poseidon in ruthlessness

Okay, is anyone else noticing how Odysseus is quite LITERALLY and figuratively being stripped of his pride and brought to his lowest before Zeus? In the scene where Zeus is effortlessly shaking him down in one hand, I almost didn’t notice it, but he literally has his cape and tunic shaken off of him until he’s literally unable to “hide anything” from Zeus. Odysseus’ fatal flaw is Pride in the stories, and here, he’s being humiliated. In the animatic for Ruthlessness, Odysseus was beaten down personally by Poseidon and forced to watch his soldiers die. Despite being humiliated by Poseidon, he still had some of his pride for thinking he could get away from Poseidon with a simple “excuse” instead of an apology and using the bag of wind. But here? Odysseus is REALLY being broken down by Zeus and has not even a shred of pride left. Odysseus isn’t able to fight back or stand strong at all and endure Zeus like he endured Poseidon. This song has Odysseus losing his ENTIRE crew, and the last shred of his pride.

This is what i call Zeus who actually looks like a good depiction of a Greek god and is actually intimidating as he should be, and this is the first animation that shows a very psychologically vulnerable Odysseus when Zeus appears here.

i love how STRESSED Odysueuss visibly looks. he was SCREAMING at the crew to get away from the island during mutiny and now there's no way out. he KNOWS they're screwed

I love your take on Odysseus. Most people animate him still having a cool expression, despite the obvious sweat. Your the first who shows him with the expression of “WE’RE SO DEAD”

The different way Ody reacts to Zeus is so heartbreaking, cause last time Zeus interacted with the King of Ithica, Ody ended up killing a toddler, and now has immense ptsd, great work Anni! please don't get carpal tunnel while making this masterpiece.

I can't get enough of how depressed and resigned Odysseus looks at 0:27 when he lifts his head!!!! He looks like a wet tissue someone crumbled over and over again and then dragged through a puddle. 😂 Perfect expression for this point of his life. He has the look of someone who knows exactly who's coming. (He knowssss, he's been here before with Zeus)

THE WAY HE GRABS ODYSSEUS' FACE LIKE HE'S HOLDING LOVER MAKES ME GO CRAZY

In the Ruthlessness Animatic, when Poseidon tipped the boat, Ody immediately hit the other side of the deck. But when Zeus does, we see Ody keeping his control and holding on. Kinda shows that Ody has more control over how this conflict can go (and that he's truly a different beast) :D

Oh, poor Ody is just so visibly tired and distraught. He knows something bad is coming, and, after dealing with Poseidon, I'm sure he's fearing the worst. After all, Poseidon is powerful, but what could his brother, the king of the gods, do to him instead? Despite his best efforts, he is at the mercy of the gods once more, and the light at the end of the tunnel, finally going home, is surely going to be snuffed out.

ah, an animatic where Zeus' comparison between breaking the pride of men and forcing himself onto women is brought back onto Odysseus personally. Good one
