Cowboys Rumors: BIG MOVE COMING With $27 MM In Cap Space After Terence Steele Contract Restructure?
Показать описание
Dallas Cowboys rumors: Are the Cowboys about to make some major moves with about $27 million in salary cap space after paying Dak Prescott and restructuring the Terence Steele contract? Cowboys Report host Tom Downey has a few theories on why the Cowboys made the moves they have and what could be next.
Cowboys News: The Cowboys restructured Terence’s Steele’s contract, per ESPN’s Field Yates. It Saves $4.5 MM this year by dropping base salary from $7.25 MM to $1.625 MM and adds $1.125 MM each of the next 4 seasons. It puts the Cowboys salary cap space at about $27 million (just under it), which is far more than the Cowboys would need to handle normal in-season moves.
Dallas Cowboys rumors on why the Cowboys created the extra cap space:
#1: Faith in Terence Steele: The right tackle was better in Week 1 vs. the Cleveland Browns and looks more like this 2022 form.
#2: Making A Big Move: The Cowboys need the salary cap space to make a splashy trade or pay someone else.
#3: Change In Cap Planning: If you’re going to pay a player on an extension, there’s a valid thought to always restructuring that deal. Could the Cowboys finally be setting up a more aggressive cap structure?

- Current 2025 Cap Space: $28.26 MM
- Dak Restructure: ~$37 MM
- CeeDee Restructure: ~$20 MM
- That’s $85 M in Cap Space
