Oh double cleansing works so much better for my acne prone skin. Key is to make sure your cleansers aren’t drying/ stripping and it works great 👍

Once I started double cleansing I saw fewer breakouts. I'm pretty sure I wasn't get all my makeup off before. To me double cleansing is just using some kind of cleanser twice. I don't always use the korean method.

I have used a TON of cleansing oils and balms and second cleansers. TBH. No matter what brand my face ends up being drier even with moisturizer. I have dry, dehydrated, VERY sensitive, acne prone type 1 rosacea. I’m actually over double cleansing. It’s just too costly and time consuming. I don’t use Micellar water either so I’m trying to find an alternative but I don’t think there is one.

In case someone didn’t know this, but Double cleaning is not invented by Korean people, Japanese people have been doing it for 30 years, and the first cleaning oil( the ones emulsify) is invented by shu uemura who happened to be a Japanese.

It's definitely a personal preference. I find it unnecessary in my case and often just makes my skincare routine longer(which is fine because some people might like!)

If you wear makeup, I believe one should double cleanse. Even after I double cleanse, if I use a toner, the toner still takes off more gunk.

I have acne prone skin and I don’t double cleanse. I just cleanse my skin for a bit longer and it prevents me from breaking out 👌🏻

About 5 years ago, I went to school for esthetics. The first step in a facial is a double cleanse. I remember when I first started doing this, I thought it was overkill. Then after doing facials, cleansing my own face (with better knowledge) I started seeing the huge benefits of a double cleanse. If you wear makeup, A double cleanse shouldn’t be an option for you. If you only wear skincare/ sunscreen? You could probably get by with one wash, but I still highly recommend the double. The first wash isn’t “cleansing” as much as it’s there to break down everything, which is why I recommend an oil or balm for the first (don’t worry, this won’t break you out. This will actually help with breakouts because it wont overstrip your skin causing it to produce more oil) The second wash gets deeper into the pores and gets rid of the leftover product from the first wash. Just because you can’t see the residue left on your skin, doesn’t mean it’s not there. Overall I highly recommend the double cleanse. Out of all the “hype” / viral things, this is one I stand behind.

It's kinda like washing clothes.. common sense and actual look and feel will tell you that you'd be needing a 2nd and even 3rd rinse.

For days where i'm just at home or just worn sunscreen once that day (no reapplication), regular cleanse is enough. But for fullface makeup days or when i just feel the city's pollution has stuck to me, heck i'd be double cleansing not just my face but my entire body.

I was taught to remove makeup then wash my face. From my days on stage, I would use a cleansing cream or balm to remove the makeup and a bar soap to wash with. I used Abschminke for years until my intolerances to petrochemicals and fragrances were identified. It’s too bad, because that stuff can melt any makeup easily. I followed it with Neutrogena bar soap until I discovered that the scent and tallow in it didn’t agree with my skin. I then embarked on a quest to find cleansing products that worked for me. It’s an ongoing process. As I’ve aged and moved to different climates, I’ve had to adapt my routines. But I still remove my makeup and/or sunscreen then cleanse my face.

It is anecdotal but that's not to say it doesn't work. When i only used a face wash i always had dirt/sebum left on my skin and i had to wipe with toner. So clearly a face wash isn't sufficient to remove all dirt and i don't even wear makeup. Hence it's kinda logical that if you're using an extra cleanser which is removing all dirt and clogged pores then you have lesser chance of breakouts and dullness.

It's the sunscreen that sticks so well to the skin, that's why I double cleanse.

I only double cleanse when I wear makeup, which I don't do on daily basis. Other than that I feel like a single cleanse is enough for me.

I love the double cleanse I feel it has improved my skin and it really helps get rid of everything off of your skin especially if you have on makeup. I love it.
