You have a great point. You need to put in many hours onto your craft in order to achieve mastery. I liked how you talked about the violinist. I am a tuba player in the Marine Band and it took me from age 10 till age 22 to be at the level I needed to be at to get a job as a professional musician. Practice makes us better, and we always look for ways to keep on growing. You mentioned sacrifice and that hit me because I remember having to sacrifice going to party’s, hanging out with friends, or seeing my girlfriend, just to put in the hours I needed to perfect the piece of music.

Malcolm Gladwell is probably my favorite author of all time. Outliers & David and Goliath completely blew my mind.

What was your GPA in high school? My GPA was not the best in Freshman and Sophomore year as I had a 2.7. This year I dedicated more time to my studies, and brought it up. I’m still learning to study and hope to be an Orthopedic Surgeon like yourself. What’s some advice you could give me ?

Would you recommend finishing an undergrad major then take pre med courses or is it required to finish pre med courses first to be able to take mcat in junior/senior year?
