Determine the endpoint given one endpoint and midpoint algebraically

👉 In this playlist, you will learn what the distance and midpoint formulas are and how to apply them. The distance formula is derived from the Pythagorean theorem given the coordinates of two points. the two x-coordinates sum divided by 2 gives us the x-coordinate of the midpoint.

Alternate method:

X's: Since moving from 2 to -1 represents a decrease of 3, just subtract 3 more from the x at the midpoint to get -4.

Y's Since moving from 9 to 6 represents a decrease of 3, just subtract 3 more from the y at the midpoint to get 3.

I’ve always been bad at math and I’ve just now trying out geometry, i have a thick skull so most of my teachers teachings go in and out one ear a lot even though I don’t mean to let it. I’ve even had moments where she’s just taught us it and five minutes later I need retaught the lesson. While I’m still confused on what exactly I’m doing I can work out the problems now with out using a calculator and just entering the problem in. Though I might still go on an online conference with my teacher just to make sure I get these right. Thanks Brian Mclogan!
