PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: About the size of a key remote and just 2.93 inches long, the resqme tool is the smallest car escape tool that you can find. It is light weight and fits in the palm of your hand. Its 3 conical cylindric shape makes it very distinctive, and comes in a variety of trendy colors. This 2 in 1, safety and survival tool, allows you to cut a jammed seatbelt and to break a side window in your car. Originally developed for first responders (firefighters, EMTs, law enforcement agencies), resqme has become an essential safety solution for all safety conscious drivers. resqme is made in the USA and has been certified by the German TÜV laboratories. Features A spring-loaded steel spike breaks tempered car glass with 12 pounds of pressure. The clip enables you to attach the resqme to your keychain and to easily pull it out. The clip protects the sharp blade specially designed to cut seatbelts. Resqme breaks your car window and cuts your seatbelt so you can escape from your vehicle. Police, firefighters and paramedics carry these on their keychains to rescue families from auto accidents. This tool is small, lightweight and automatically resets after each use. The break-apart design allows Res-Q-Me to be quickly removed from its storage location in an emergency situation. Designed in Europe and upholds the strictest testing and regulations worldwide. Your whole family needs to have this tool to help them escape from an over-turned car, burning car or submerged car. Resqme saves lives worldwide. Made in the USA.

may I suggest as a retired fire fighter that you should ; (1) rest your hand on the door and push the tool with your fingers that way you will not push your hand into the glass. (2) turn your face way (3) hand protection - I see that you are wearing gloves which may not be with in reach but you may be able to use another piece of clothing shirt / sleeve - ( ) one last tidbit you may be able to get the floor mat to cover the broken glass on the door before you climb out great job as always

I love the Resqme! I've kept one on my keys for a few years. True story: I found a bird tangled up in fishing lines at the beach, I didn't have a knife on me because I was wearing swim trunks. But I did have my Resqme on my keys! I used it to free the lines around the bird's feet and body. Window break can also be used to break windows in emergency cases if a pet is locked or left in a vehicle on a hot day. Obviously, contact authorities first and try to find the owner unless the pet is showing severe signs of distress and overheating. Resqme saves animal lives too!

I was very much not expecting that glass to break as well as it did. That was impressive.

You could've break the window from inside the door if you did it on the other side. No need to be inside the car.

This is an great video. I am a professional rescuer and I can tell you from personal experience that this is a great product. I have used it on multiple windows and seat belts. I have one in my personal vehicles and one at my work. It is also surprisingly easy to use with gloves on. Just one thing to mention more and more newer cars use laminated windows in both the windshield and side windows. This product as great as it is will not work on laminated windows. You have to check the corner of the window on your car near the windows serial number and see if it states that it is laminated. I carry a serrated edge knife that will cut though laminated windows. Cutting through laminated windows takes time, but gives you a way to get out. The resQme is much faster as you can see in the video. I hope this helps and keep up the great videos!!

Great video and demonstration (and escape, your quite agile). Thanks for taking the time to head out to the junkyard and film. I'm definetly sold on the resqme tool, for something so cheap it works very well.

1:06 I'm not sure if I'm convinced that in a major car crash it will remain in place, especially if the visor was in use. I've seen a lot of crash footage, things inside the car go all over the place in a major accident at freeway speeds.

I will say I'm a fan of the tool and we have one in each of our cars. I like the idea of the visor clip a lot! It's common in a major accident to be stuck in place (which is why seatbelt cutters are so useful), but if you're stuck in place you may be physically unable to reach far enough to get to this tool.

I like the keychain idea a lot. They keys in the engine (or in your pocket for keyless ignition) are going to be within reach (assuming you can get to your pocket after a major crash). Though, I tend to not leave much of anything on my key ring (personal preference) to lighten them.

I would suggest a third unit in the glove box or an enclosed center console compartment. My aunt was killed in a head-on collision years ago and the force of the impact pulled her wedding band off her finger and flung it into the back of her car. I can see a survivable collision potentially having enough force to fling those clipped on resqme tools into the back of the vehicle where they would then be inaccessible.

Love your videos, by the way - well organized, very informative, with great ideas!

More reasons to love your channel. Clearly a lot of effort put into it by actually going to a junkyard. I have had a couple of these for a long time, always wondered how well they would work. Now I know. Thanks for your hard work!

I gave these to my entire family for christmas in a car emergency kit I put together. Also inspired by your videos I put a mini medi in each one of the kits that my 5yo was super happy to put together for them.

WARNING: If you crash the gizmo will NOT still be on the visor. The impact will have thrown it from the visor to where you will never find it. Use a washer and screw it to the dash or window column through the key chain part.

I personally really love this tool. I've tested it and it worked. Always keep one on me, just in case.

One important thing to note, every window in your car doesn't necessarily have tempered glass in the side windows - many newer vehicles have laminated windows which these tools will NOT break. Some cars however, have different types of glass at different locations in the vehicle (i.e. one side window will be tempered) so it is important to research your car's windows if you do buy an emergency escape tool. Windshields and the back window are laminated - don't try to break them.

I own this exact model. Thank you so much for testing it! At least I know it's not a gimmick and works perfectly.

I wouldn't put the tool on the visor. If you flip, the tool will end up somewhere else in your car. I use some paracord, and attach it to my hand brake which is right beside me. Either person in the front seat can easily get it.

I like the idea of the visor clip. Just ordered one for my Jeep. Thanks!
