NEW YORK IN SUPER 8

Earlier this year I purchased a 45 years old Super 8 camera in order to document some of my travels. This is my latest trip to New York with Erik Djurklou, shot entirely on Super 8 film.

Shot on Canon 310XL using Kodak Vision3 50D film.

Edited in Adobe Premiere Pro CC.

love it! super 8 makes anything look so aesthetically pleasing. even in 2017 new york looks kinda vintage through a super 8 camera. really wish I could get my hands on one, but the film seems realllyyy expensive and so does the processing :( i'm already throwing a ton of money away on 35mm every month lol

I LOVE this video, probably my favourite trip-vlog i have ever seen.
It looks so cheerful and i nearly get jealous about this wonderful friendship. Everything looks so joyful, colourful, surreal and yet real at the same time.
It's not just the same, it also the music and compostion, the interaction with your friend in between and strangers, what makes this video special.

I've been in the US recently for the very first time and HOW MUCH i miss having friends that are just into recording and exploring like me, you can't imagine.

Nice scan. The 1 WTC may have been a giveaway that it's 2017 but boy it looked like the swinging sixties! And to think that the Mad Men 60s look was back in the relatively happier pre-pandemic 2010s and now the 30s/70s look is back in the TikTok crazy 2020s, this wouldn't look out of place among the legit 60s-70s super 8 films! This is one of the best films I have seen on super 8 and one of the best content I've ever seen on YouTube!
