My family and I live in the suburbs of Adelaide, so some of those costs you mention are through the roof from our perspective. We are lucky to own our own home, but rents, food, etc., are not much different from yours here. Although private health care is available, Australia has a free public health system, and child care is government-subsidized. But like you said, NYC is not for everyone, and I think you'd be bored silly if you lived here. It's just a matter of following one's dream. Great video - thanks
