My grandparents had an old Kodak 8mm (not super8) camera, and they filmed a bunch of stuff at various national parks in the 50s and 60s. Now I have all the film they shot, and the camera they filmed it on. There are even a few reels of unused film. I'd love to make a trip to some of the places they went and recreate their shots with the exact same camera and film they used

Reason i am obsessed with these old timey cameras is because they are the window into a world that is nolonger here, litterally everythign is different now, but by filming with a super 8 camera you can bring that lost world to our time and for some reason everything trough a super 8 looks like abetter time, even if you are filming modern time activities or events.
i can''t explain the feeling because in the 90's wheni was a little girl we allready had ''better'' quality cameras but i stil feel some type ofNostalgia non the less, as if a past life ofmine is going down memorylane ^^

If you use the outside lever for daylight film you’ll get orange colors. Only use the lever with tungsten balanced film and leave it on indoors for daylight films.

When you send film off to be processed you don't always haf to have it digitized that's only if you want a digital copy of it.

You miss out on the complete experience. I only shoot reversal stocks and edit my films manual and project my films on a film projector. I also add post sound stripe to my films to add sound (that's sound after) and project with a sound projector. That makes the magic complete.
