Why couldn’t we get more of THIS Cosmo in the show? Not only does the voice NOT make me wanna stab my ears out with a sharpened wand but the character’s just a lot better this way

This older voice was considerably better. It fit the husband-spouse dynamic and was more interesting in terms of Cosmo actually being moderately intelligent.
